Grants Received
We’re proud to share that Lower Granville Hall has received several grants to support important hall upkeep and help us move closer to our goal of becoming an officially designated Comfort Centre for our community in times of crisis.
These funds will enhance our ability to serve as a safe, supportive, and equipped space when it’s needed most.
Thank you to our funders and to everyone who continues to support our mission!
Wildfire Community Preparedness Day Grant
Lower Granville Hall is one of 404 communities across Canada selected to receive a generous $500 grant from FireSmart Canada, in collaboration with the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR), Co-operators, and the provincial and territorial wildfire agencies that support this national program. This funding helped us host our event on May 31st, 2025 to bring valuable resources, education, and activities to help build a more resilient and fire-safe community!
AED Grant
We’re proud to share that our Hall has been awarded an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) thanks to a generous grant from the Canadian Red Cross and Giant Tiger in May of 2025.
This life-saving device will be installed outside the building in its own alarmed, weather-resistant box, allowing 24/7 public access in the event of an emergency. It will also be registered on the EHS AED registry map, ensuring first responders and the public know it’s available.
Annapolis County Grant
Thanks to the Municipality of the County of Annapolis, we have received a generous grant of $2,500 that will help to partially fund the parking lot gravel replenishment project in May of 2025. We will be contracting with a local company to finalize this project as soon as possible. This project aims to improve accessibility, enhance safety, and support year-round access to the Hall.

Backup Generator Grant
Thanks to community volunteers and a generous grant from Communities, Culture, Tourism, and Heritage (CCTH) in March of 2024, we finished the installation of an automatic propane-powered generator to power the Hall in times of crisis.
