North Mountain Tai Chi   with Paul Chessman

These classes are independently operated programs hosted at Lower Granville Hall, and all payments/registration go through the instructor, not the Hall. 

Tai Chi classes with Paul Chessman, a martial artist with over 40 years’ experience. Paul holds various teaching grades and qualifications, including Advanced Tai Chi Instructor (certified by Shi Kon).

Class sessions are held from March – December.

Classes are 45 minutes long. Introduction to Tai Chi as well as Mixed Ability classes are available and are held twice weekly, on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Pre-registration is required. Classes are relaxed and friendly, and based on the classical long forms of Yang style Tai Chi.  A gentle flowing exercise, Tai Chi offers benefits for people at all fitness levels.

Tai Chi Foundations – Spring Term Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for an eight-week introduction to classical Tai Chi, ideal for new students and early-stage learners.

Whether you’re curious about Tai Chi or ready to deepen your training, this gentle, structured class will guide you step-by-step through fundamental principles. Fees are per term, with classes available either once weekly ($95) or twice-weekly sessions ($190).

Class times:
• Sundays, 6:00 pm (March 8 – April 26)
• Wednesdays, 11:00 am (March 11 – April 22)

Classes are led by a certified, experienced  Advanced Tai Chi Instructor, with an emphasis on safe, progressive learning. Benefits include improved balance, posture, relaxation, focus and energy.
